Comparing Xbox Instagram against Xbox Twitter

In this post I thought it would be interesting to investigate the differences between the official Xbox Instagram account and the Xbox Twitter account. Since Xbox shares some of their tweets through their Instagram accounts I thought it would be good to investigate. I would assume posting tweets to their Instagram would prompt fans to go out and follow them on Twitter.

On the Twitter account they put a lot more effect into the language being used compared to on Instagram where it’s very short and straight to the point with maybe a hashtag or two at the end.

An example of one of their Twitter posts is “9 out of 10 Xboxes love this sale. The 10th was on a killstreak, so we didn’t want to interrupt.” This post is about a current sale they have running on the Xbox store featuring games that are up to 75% off.

For an example of an Instagram post “Dress the way summer makes you feel. The xbox Gear Shop Summer Collection is available now.” This post was about the launch of their summer merchandise.

The Instagram is much more to the point where as the Twitter account has more fun with what they are saying. This can be seen in a lot of their posts.

This would primarily be because Instagram is more about the image in the post, the more text there is in the post the less likely they are to read it. Where as on Twitter the users are they mainly to read text not only look at images.

Official Xbox Instagram Stories

Today I will be taking a deep dive into the official Xbox Instagram account and looking at how they use their Instagram Stories to captivate their audience/followers. ·        Polls Through using polls Xbox is able receive different sets of data from their followers. These include: User engagement, what followers are interested in, what is most popular out of the poll options. ·        Product Announcements Announcing products and product releases on their story also has the ability to send out a notification to those that have enabled notifications for stories. This keeps the followers up to date on anything new as soon as it’s announced. ·        Mini-games The Xbox account regularly posts mini-games to their story. These games are usually things like memory games or spot the difference between two photos of video game. These are just short fun activities they run on their stori...

A look into the Xbox Game Pass Instagram Account

Hello readers! Today we will be talking about the xboxgamepass Instagram account. First an introduction of Xbox GamePass is needed. Xbox Game Pass is basically Netflix but for video games. Just like Netflix you pay a monthly subscription fee $15, which then unlocks literally over 100 games to download and play whenever you want. As long as your subscription is active. These aren’t just cheap games either. Entire game series like Battlefield and Halo can be found on there. Game development studios that Xbox/Microsoft owns are put on Game Pass the day the release and will stay on the subscription forever. This means you pay that small $15 monthly fee to play new releases day one without having to pay full retail price. So as long as you’re playing games off of Game Pass you’re probably getting your moneys worth. Now, back to the Instagram account. The xboxgamepass account posts images of new games that are coming to Game Pass. Examples of this would be images of the game Hades ...

How the different Xbox instagram accounts function

Today I will be looking how the different Xbox accounts work. Do they have similar content? How do they differ from each other? First I'll be looking at XboxANZ The Xbox ANZ account only posts announcements of new Xbox products, first-party titles, and new games coming out on Xbox gamepass (their subscription service where paying a monthly fee unlocks 100s of games to play).  The account does not engage in the comment section. The comment section of their posts is not that popular regular posts get probably under 10 comments. The big announcements do better with slightly under 100 comments. The small posts are things like new controller colours. The big posts are things like console announcements. Secondly, I'll be looking at XboxUK The XboxUK account has 383 thousand followers whereas the ANZ account only has 79 thousand follows. The UK account posts higher quality posts like memes, videos, advertisements and announcements. The UK account has more interaction with other bran...
